For people who want to improve their English

I've bought a dictionnary called "Harrap's English Activator".
It's a dictionnary written all in English : words and definitions.
Not very important if you try to find a litteral translation, but if you just look for a equivalent word, you just have to search the word you want to translate, and try to understand its meaning.
It's very hard to use at the beginning, but you quickly get used.
Try it... :P

That's better than translating by words. At least you find the right word to use in the right context.

Always improving....

Yes, a good solution to improve your comprehension is to read a lot english novels. I regularly do so, and I really understand texts better.
But, if you need a tip, don't try to read long novels you have never heard about, but little one, that you have already read in French.
You can also find bilingual books.
Author's names which are not too hard to read : Carson Mc Cullers (The Ballad of the sad café).
Wilkie Collins : The Woman in white
Charlotte Bronte : Jane Eyre.
All these books are interesting and very easy to read (except for the Ballad of the sad cafe. The author often use idioms and slang expressions).
And never hesitate to search a word in the dictionnary...
Good luck :-a1

I'm sorry I've forgot a verb. I'm try to make good english. It's not easy to me.
(erreur de frappe )

So if you want to improve your English :

-> Don't say "I've forgot" but "I've forgotten"
Present perfect : Have (ou has) + 3 Preterit

-> Don't say "I'm try" but "I'm trying"
Present progressif : Be conjugué (am, is or are) + verge en "ing"
Action commencée mais pas achevée au moment ou tu parles.

-> Don't say "It's not easy to me" but "It's not easy for me"

Good luck ;)

thank.

I may be stop to talk english because I make lots of mistake.

I'm so sad
Give me a lesson please :-b2

Yikez.... Hats off to you if you are already reading Bronte!!

When I was learning French I used to read a lot of newspapers (on the net) which helped me a lot. Here are some that I know of :

www.theage.com.au
www.smh.com.au

They'll give more of an Aussie slant to things as they are both Aussie papers.

Good Luck with the exams for those that are sitting them this year.

compte-rendu

Hello,

My name is Reina, and I would like to know if there is somebody to explain me how to do a "compte rendu" in english of course, and what is the methodology to have a very good "compte rendu"????

Thank you for your answer     :P

Reina

the topic is right, but there's not any answer for Reina.

What it is, exactly ? What sort of texte is it ?
what's the subject ? Who're the characters of it ?
was it a meeting ?

yes but i think she would better make "up" on this topic inteasd of here.... it's not the subject and the explaintion won't be enought clear in english....

Question

With the exams in 18 days (for the BTS CGO in anycase!) how are people dealing with stress?

Any hints or ideas on getting "stress-less" in order to perform at one's maximum?

Personally I've tried going for a swim everyday but it doesn't seem to be working that well as I'm still pretty stressed! haha!

Open to suggestions.

I'm sooooo stressed si I work a lot...
I've finished on wednesday but I have to read everything one more time...

It's hard to study...
