i love the british accent, and in my favorite american movies desperate houewives there is a scotish man: IAN a love him and his scotish accent is very sexy :wub :wub

I could....If I could Don't think so but I know I did a mistake
"I can....If could" is correct
To show earlier action, we use past tense
e.g. I know that I made the right choice.

Actually I would say the better way to say it is :
'I WOULD speak about it FOR several hours if I COULD'
even in french we don't say 'je peux en parler pendant des heures si je pouvais'... that's nonsense and that's what 'I can....I could' would mean.
that's the way I would tell it, such as 'I did a mistake' sounds better in 'I MADE a mistake'

No actually I'm not FROM Australia, I'm from Rennes but in Australia for 4 months!
And before coming to Rennes for my studies I've been living with my parents in Orleans, that's why I'm asking you where you come from exactly

Austria means Autriche lol. It's not exactly the same lol.

oOmarionOo, what a crappy weather we had actually in melbourne. Only 24 degrees  :embarassed: How is it in Sydney ?

on saturday and sunday it has been really hot and sunny (I got sunburnt grrrrrr) but you must have seen in the news that on sunday night we've had a huge thunder storm... it was just scary !!! and since then, it's been really dark and sometimes raining, it's around 23-25 too! Hope tomorow will be better!!

what you should write :

On saturday and sunday, it has been really sunny and warm, but you must saw on the news that sunday night, we had a huge thunder storm... it was so scary !!! And then, it became really dark and also raining. Hope tomorrow will be better

what marion said was alright for me !!! she already has the aussie spoken, yeah ? lollll

you can say : it's hot, when you talk about the weather. hot is not only for the sexual stuff you know ! so many times i heard : ohmygod it's so fucking hot ! lol
i'm a bit confused with the use of the past and the present perfect here (i never got that rules :notstupide: we need an english teacher by there).
you can also say : it was just scary if you wanna be kind of ironic, that's correct too.

it's been really dark and sometimes raining

she might wanted to say "rainy", so you both wrong in that little part.

anyway, what marion said was ok, and australian guy would perfectly understand her.
actually, when you're speaking english all the time, yeah you do some mistakes but people still understand you. i think what we really need is to write in english all the time.
i don't know about you marion, but my english written is becoming really shitty

okay, you wanna play?? I'll correct you too :
I would say 'what you SHOULD HAVE WRITTEN' since the thing is done, you're telling me what I sould have done all right? got that?
then I'm sorry but I was right with the 'but you must have seen that' ! you know, with my fucking grammar lessons after 2 years learning english as a speciality at university I DO know how to use past/present and future tenses! so let's see:

you must have seen VS you must saw : can't use a preterite after a modal like 'must'
we've had VS we had : I am using a past perfect tense because what is worth noticing is 'it was so scary' that come next ok? When you comment a past action you do have to use the present perfect that make the link between the action itself and the commentary.
it's been really dark VS it became really dark : I'm not telling a story 'John took a knife and stabbed Augusta, she began bleeding...' lol you see? I'm not talking abour the MOMENT it 'became' dark! I'm telling you that after the storm (hence the 'SINCE then', we've had a dark sky! see?

sans rancune

So YES I'm getting an oral way of writting but still, I'm sure of my grammar! And Nesscafe, you're right, you know what, I can speak english faster and faster but ... and because I'm getting use to it but because I don't care about speakin BBC english anymore, making perfect sentences ... lol so yes, I can say my english is becoming shitty ! I have to be more careful since i've got my exams in may! I'm not sure the jury will like my aussie way of speaking cooooool english ;)
