Hello Zara, your english is not so bad. There's some mistakes, of course, like everybody (but teachers) lol

to pass est un faux ami. to pass = réussir

in dictionnary, they translate "passer (un examen)" by to take an exam. It seems a quite weird, i think. i prefer "i will have an english oral next monday".

well, for my own, it's tomorrow...

how can we help you Zara ?

thanks you !!! Good luck for !!!! And don't forget to tell us your impressions...

You can see "to sit an exam" but I don't know if it does concern the orals or the writing only.

Hi starck ,

I think your introduction would be more correct if written as following :

to test
I haven't spoken a lot
a lot of mistakes
I prepared (to pass = to succeed in) my BTS Action co for the first time in 2004 and I failed.
For 2 years, I have been training in a private business school
I realy hope to suceed this year
I hope that you would understand me

Hmm... that's depending on the context... you can also use "be + going to" if it's a very close future.

Still depending of the context, you can also use shall, should ou could. It depends on what you're saying, to who you're speaking... there's so much nuances. :wink2:

yes, but, anyway, it seems so weird !
you know, when i speak english, i sometimes do the translation in my head so "I take an exam" ou " I sit an exam"... becomes weird, don't you think ?

well, that's just my opinion. :wink2:

The formulation "to sit an exam" is a British expression. But you are right, it sounds weird in French because translations shuouldn't be literal.

That's why we French are more comfortable with the English-to-French translation than we are with the French-to-English !

thanks Nessss!!!

In my case it's for an oral english in tourism, in fact, it's to sell a trip. Before (I do) an sold in french with a customer and after I should to repeat my sold in english. It's for this that I ask you this traduction. Thank you so much... :wink2:
